Executive Officers
Dr. Melvin Hall - President
Dr. Melvin Hall was elected President of FSLB in 2021.
He previously served as the inaugural elected Chaplain of FSLB Inc., at the formation convention in 2007, held in Washington, DC.
Dr. Hall is a former basketball player. He played for the Liberia National Basketball team (Lone Star), Mighty Barrolle Basketball Club (1st Division League), Cuttington University, and Ricks Institute (High School). He coached Barrolle, and the University of Liberia basketball teams.
Dr. Hall holds a Bachelor in Chemistry from Cuttington University, a Master in Geology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Doctorate in Chemistry from Auburn University. He has worked his entire career in academia and is currently Professor of Chemistry at LaGrange College in Georgia.
Cllr. James Nyepan Verdier, Jr. – Vice President
Cllr. Verdier was elected Vice President of FSLB in 2021.
He is a former basketball player. He played for Barrolle, Pythons, Island Lords (2nd Division), the University of Liberia, and D. Twe Memorial High School basketball teams. His accolades include: MVP 1985, Coach of the College of West Africa male and female basketball teams (1993 – 1996).
He served as Vice President for Technical Affairs for Liberian Basketball Federation (LBF)
Cllr. Verdier holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Liberia. He also earned a Bachelor of Law Degree (LL.D) from the University of Liberia and earned a Master of Law in International Human Rights Law from the University of Notre Dame, Southbend, IN.
Terrence Harmon - Treasurer
Mr. Harmon was elected Vice President of FSLB in 2021.
He is a former basketball player. He played high school basketball at St. Martin High School. He worked briefly with the Acorn boys’ basketball team. He was elected Secretary General of the Liberian Basketball Federation (LBF), a position he held for four years. He also coached the Dream Team female basketball team.
Mr. Harmon holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Liberia. He holds an MBA in Financial Management from the University of Phoenix and a Master Degree in Safety, Security, and Emergency Management from Eastern Kentucky University. He currently works as a manager with the Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Peter Serbo Kpan, Jr. - Secretary
Mr. Kpan was elected Secretary of FSLB in 2021.
He is a former basketball player. He played for AME Zion Academy in Liberia and Livingston College in North Carolina. Livingston is part of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Conference. At Livingstone, he served as a fifth-year Student Assistant Coach for Livingstone College Basketball Team.
Mr. Kpan holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, Livingstone College and a Master of Science degree in Administration with focus in Public Administration from Central Michigan University. He also has a Master of Business Administration from Franklin University in Columbus, OH.
Mr. Kpan currently works as a Computer Infrastructure Specialist and Network Engineer at State of Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation in Columbus, Ohio.
He is affiliated with other non-profit 501 (c) (3) organizations
Pastor James Weh Wleh - Chaplain
Pastor James Wah Wleh Jr. was elected Chaplain of FSLB in 2021.
Pastor Wleh is a former basketball and soccer player. He player for Monrovia Central High School. He mentored and pastored many young athletics in Logan Town and central Monrovia.
Since relocating to Minnesota, Pastor Wleh has continued his engagement with mentoring and pastoring young athletics.
Presently he serves as Senior Pastor at the Kingdom Ambassadors Ministries International in Minnesota.
